The nationwide protests we’re seeing in response to the killing of George Floyd represent positive demands for an equitable future for all — free from racism, oppression, and violence.
This matters to our work at the Land Trust because we recognize that the history of land ownership and use has been shaped by racism and social inequity.
A commitment to working with our community to protect the land is at the core of our mission. The ways in which we include, involve, represent, and support our whole community in our work must be continually reexamined to make sure we are holding true to this commitment and taking actions that make a positive impact.
Together, we will strive to build an equitable future for all.
