Request for Proposals: Strategic Planning Consultant

Jefferson Land Trust is requesting proposals for consulting and facilitation of a new strategic plan to guide the organization from 2025 to 2029, following our current capital campaign.

We envision the strategic planning process as including three phases, but will consider alternatives based on the contractor’s experience:

  • a retreat workshop with our 12-member board of directors and executive staff to set the plan framework and initial priorities,
  • a process to engage Jefferson County residents and stakeholders, and
  • consulting assistance to the executive staff in fully developing the new plan.

Ideally, the process would begin late this spring and conclude by the end of the year.

Our strategic planning contractor should have extensive experience with nonprofit organizations, particularly those with environmental and land trust missions.

Background on Jefferson Land Trust is available at www.saveland.org. Our current strategic plan for 2019-2024 is available upon request. Questions regarding the Jefferson Land Trust should be directed to Executive Director Richard Tucker (rtucker[at]saveland.org) or Board Chair Brian Rogers (briandrogers[at]gmail.com).

Proposals should be submitted by electronic mail to Executive Director Richard Tucker (rtucker[at]saveland.org) no later than the close of business on April 18, 2024.

Proposals should include details of your qualifications, including relevant experience and expertise, a description of your approach to strategic planning, contact information for two non-profit clients who are willing to act as references, and a clear fee structure for the proposed services, with each phase of the process priced separately. Proposals will be evaluated based on the proposed strategic planning process, contractor qualifications and experience, and price. We anticipate awarding a contract by May 10, 2024.

Jefferson Land Trust is an equal-opportunity employer. We seek to work with the most talented people from a diverse pool of contractors; minority- and women-owned businesses are strongly encouraged to apply.
