Xan Gerson is an estate planning attorney with Metis Estate Planning, who has additional expertise in philanthropic advising. Xan’s 1-hour seminar will review estate planning basics, estate taxes, when and why to update your estate plan, charitable planning, and new opportunities for charitable giving under the SECURE Act.

This complimentary seminar is presented by Jefferson Land Trust, Jefferson County Community Foundation, and the Northwest Maritime Center.

About Xan

Xan Gerson and FamilyXan Gerson is an estate planning attorney with Metis Estate Planning. Xan hails from a small town in northern New York. She moved to Seattle to attend law school at Seattle University from which she graduated cum laude. In addition to being a member of the Washington State and King County Bar Associations, she belongs to the Seattle Philanthropic Advisors Network, Washington Planned Giving Committee, and the Seattle Estate Planning Council.

She also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Seattle University School of Law, and on the University of Washington’s Estate & Gift Planning Council. Xan is a Past Planned Giving Committee Member of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and a former Board Member of PCC Farmland Trust. She has been recognized as a Super Lawyer Rising Star every year since 2014. Today, Xan lives in Kingston, Washington with her husband and son. When she isn’t at work, she enjoys hiking, trail running, walking her dog, cooking delicious food, and finding new and creative ways to entertain a child indoors.
