On Saturday, September 27 from noon – 4:00 pm, you’re invited to join us for a milestone more than a decade in the making: the official Grand Opening of Chimacum Ridge Community Forest!
An opening ceremony at Finnriver Farm & Cidery will be followed by the opportunity to explore Chimacum Ridge on foot, and to join a family-friendly scavenger hunt at the ABA-accessible community pavilion.
Doors open at noon. Please plan to arrive early to check in, pick up your homemade Chimacum Ridge granola bar, complimentary cider, and enter to win fabulous prizes (including a trail bike, a handmade quilt, and a Yeti cooler). A community celebration and ribbon-cutting on the Finnriver meadow will begin at 12:30 pm.
Shuttles will then run continuously between Finnriver and Chimacum Ridge, taking you to the trailhead where you can explore the new multiuse trail that leads to the top of the ridge and out toward its stunning viewpoints that look east to the Cascades, and north to Tamanowas Rock and Port Townsend Bay.
There’s no cost to attend this all-ages, family-friendly event, but registration is required and space is limited, so reserve your spot today!
This celebration marks a major milestone in this inspiring project. Thanks to the generosity, vision, and tireless work of community members like you, Chimacum Ridge is now forever protected as a community forest — a shared resource that will serve people, wildlife, and future generations for years to come.
