Oh Donovan: so much beauty, and so much to do! Those who have visited Lower Donovan Creek cannot forget the expansive views, recovering stream, and bright young plant community. And with the habitat recovery, we continue to support the native forest community by removing plants (such as yellow flag iris and water-loving bittersweet nightshade) that threaten to take over the young creek corridor or adjoining forest. Join us this fall to dig out yellow flag iris rhizomes to stop this colonizer in its current tracts! This work will involve walking over uneven, though stunning, terrain. Rubber boots are strongly recommended.

Directions: From Center Road, turn onto East Quilcene Road. Take the first left onto McInnis Road then proceed approximately 0.3 miles and park on the road shoulder near the top of the first driveway on the right. To carpool from Port Townsend or Chimacum, email Preserve Manager Carrie Clendaniel at cclendaniel[at]saveland.org.
