Do you know a young person who’s taking meaningful action to protect the environment or inspire others to care for the natural world? If so, we’d like to hear about it!
Jefferson Land Trust is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Fairbank Award for Youth Environmental Action, which recognizes local youth ages 12-19 who demonstrate leadership, initiative, and creativity in building a healthier, more sustainable community.
Past recipients of the Fairbank Award include Lorenzo Roel Flores McCleese (2025), Tallulah Sebastian (2024), and Diego Murray (2023) — young leaders whose work reflects a heartfelt commitment to the natural world. Established in honor of longtime Land Trust supporters Sarah and Owen Fairbank, this year’s award includes a $1,500 cash prize and recognizes environmental action that creates real, positive change.
Nominations are due by midnight February 14, 2026, with the award recipient announced at Jefferson Land Trust’s Conservation Breakfast in early March.
