We’re excited to welcome community members on public tours of Chimacum Ridge, a 918-acre forest at the heart of Chimacum.
Jefferson Land Trust purchased Chimacum Ridge at the end of 2023 and is now working to transform it into a community forest that will open to the public in 2025, with ecological, recreational, educational, economic and cultural benefits for all.
Jefferson Land Trust’s Director of Conservation and Strategic Partnerships, Sarah Spaeth, will be our guide as we explore the many unique features of the ridge and imagine the exciting possibilities it holds for the future and for our community.
There is no cost to attend the tour. Click here to see available dates and reserve your spot on an upcoming tour today.
Each tour is a minimum of eight guests and maximum of twenty guests. (Guests must be over 18, and no pets please.)
Attendees will meet at Valley View Forest parking lot (1717 Center Road, Chimacum), and carpool up for a mostly driving tour of the ridge.
The tour lasts approximately two hours and starts walking a trail with some uneven terrain. Please dress for the weather.
If we have to cancel the tour due to less than a minimum of eight participants signing up, or weather such as high winds, we’ll contact you in advance.
If you have mobility challenges, please let us know by emailing Development Assistant Sydney LaRose at slarose[at]saveland.org. We’re happy to lead a driving-only tour, or modify our walking route to make the tour accessible for you.
