A Land Trust education volunteer with students at Duckabush Oxbow and Wetlands Preserve in Brinnon.

At Jefferson Land Trust, we’re committed to educating our local students about the natural world and about how to protect our forests and streams forever! We’re currently seeking education volunteers to help lead 3rd through 12th grade students who will be taking field trips to Jefferson Land Trust preserves this coming school year.

Field trips generally run between five to seven hours, and consist of leading classes through nature-based games and activities. No prior teaching experience nor training in natural resources are necessary. All volunteers working with children must pass a background check.

If you’re interested in joining us as an education volunteer, please reach out to Education Coordinator Devon Buckham by email at dbuckham[at]saveland.org.

On Friday, September 5, from 9:00 am – noon, we’ll be running an Education Volunteer Training at Chimacum Ridge Community Forest in Chimacum. Click here to learn more.
