This map is a representative sampling of our current work, and is not a complete listing of the more than 16,000 acres of land we have helped protect to date. The map below shows colored sections outlining five of our current strategic project areas with approximated boundaries. Red pins indicate specific protected properties with links to their pages for more information about the project. Gray pins indicate protected properties as well. Our goal is to populate the map over time with the entire catalogue of our protected properties with more details about the work we are doing throughout Jefferson County. Our community’s heritage of fishing, logging, farming and love of nature is rooted in the Olympic Peninsula’s natural riches: salmon streams, shorelines, verdant forests and fertile farmland. In 1989, a group of forward-thinking local residents founded Jefferson Land Trust to protect these treasures for the future.
Our mission is to help the community preserve open space, working land and habitat forever. From wildlife habitats and watersheds to working farms and forests, we preserve some of Jefferson County’s most important places.
