What a year it’s been!

In September, our community came together to celebrate a major milestone — the grand opening of Chimacum Ridge Community Forest! This 918-acre forest, our largest and most ambitious project yet, is a shared living resource that will provide social, ecological, educational, recreational, and economic benefits for generations to come.
Our free youth education programs continue to grow, giving hundreds of public school students meaningful experiences in the classroom and out in the field at our nature preserves. And in the year ahead, we’re excited to expand these offerings by creating new ways for families and adults to learn, connect, and experience the natural world together.
Across East Jefferson County, we’re partnering with willing landowners to protect the farms, forests, wetlands, and wildlife habitat that make this region so extraordinary — as well as the trails and open spaces where people can enjoy nature firsthand.
None of this progress would be possible without our amazing volunteers, who contribute thousands of hours each year in dedication to our mission. Their commitment — along with the incredible support of our donors and partners — continues to build a bright, resilient future for our community and the lands we love.
