Building on 35 years of conservation action, Jefferson Land Trust is pleased to announce the public launch of the $8.25 million Look to the Land fundraising campaign. This campaign will support some of the community’s best and most creative ideas for ways to protect and care for the land we share, and strengthen the Land Trust’s ability to meet the growing demands of our region, forever.
“The need for our work grows each year,” Executive Director Richard Tucker said. “A successful campaign will help us be even more effective in conserving land, and allow our community to look to the future with creativity, vision, and hope.”
Funds raised by Look to the Land are helping to establish Chimacum Ridge as a community forest for all; seeding a Flexible Opportunity Fund to help the Land Trust move quickly to secure priority properties as they become available; and growing the Forever Fund Operating Endowment to ensure that the Land Trust can protect the land in its care forever.
Early supporters have responded generously to the campaign’s invitation by giving and pledging more than $6.3 million (77 percent) toward its $8.25 million goal.
“We’re excited to share this campaign with the donors, volunteers, and members of our community who know, as we do, that protecting and caring for local land is one of the most important things we can do,” shares Board President Brian Rogers. “The generosity of our supporters will allow us to finish this campaign strong and accomplish our goals.”

“This campaign marks a significant milestone in the history of Jefferson Land Trust,” notes Executive Director Richard Tucker. “We’ve come so far as an organization, and we know that the need for our work is growing. The time to invest in the future of Jefferson County is now. We look forward to working with our community to ensure this place we love is resilient, healthy, and strong for the many generations to come.”
