This month, the Chamber of Jefferson County honored two Jefferson Land Trust employees at the 2023 Community Leadership Awards: Blaise Sullivan was a finalist for Young Professional of the Year, and Sarah Spaeth won the Citizen of the Year Award!

Sarah, our Director of Conservation and Strategic Partnerships, was one of three finalists for the Citizen of the Year Award, and was named the winner at a festive awards ceremony at the American Legion Hall in Port Townsend last weekend. The award is presented to a person whose extraordinary public service has made a positive impact on the community and is generally considered a lifetime achievement award.

Blaise, our Conservation Coordinator, was one of three finalists for Young Professional of the Year. This award is given to a young professional who demonstrates excellence, creativity, and valuable service in their business to improve the quality of life for others in the community and who serves as a role model for their peers and community youth. The award went to Jacob Davidson, Chief Operating Officer at Jefferson Healthcare.

As the core members of our conservation team, Sarah and Blaise lead our land protection projects, and they each bring enormous determination, passion, and creativity to this important work. They’re also both thoughtful, fun, and generous coworkers, community members, and friends. We’ve always known how lucky we are to have them on the Jefferson Land Trust team, and we’re exceedingly proud that they’ve been recognized by the Chamber for their community-minded actions and vision.

If you see Sarah or Blaise around town, be sure to congratulate them!
