Kelly Stocker
We’re excited to introduce you to Kelly Stocker: the AmeriCorps Habitat Enhancement Crew member who recently joined us at the Land Trust!
Kelly joined us beginning in September 2024 and has been a fantastic addition to the team. Through July 2025, he’ll continue to play an important role in the mission of the Land Trust by supporting the stewardship of lands in our care.
“I knew I was going to enjoy my AmeriCorps service term working out in nature with Jefferson Land Trust, I just had no idea how much,” says Kelly. “My time here has been beyond my expectations so far. Every day I get to work alongside and learn from a very knowledgeable and dedicated team.”
Kelly recently graduated from Portland State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science with a minor focused in Water Resources. While there he had an internship with the Willamette River Keepers, where he identified and mapped invasive aquatic vegetation. His career goals are currently focused around preservation and restoration, but he someday hopes to be part of a dam removal project.
Working with Land Trust staff and with community volunteers, Kelly undertakes a variety of strategic actions to improve habitat, species, and structural diversity on several of our nature preserves and forests. He also assists with our youth education programs, helping to run field trips at our nature preserves.
In his free time, Kelly enjoys the great outdoors by mountain biking and playing disc golf.
