Though 2025 continues without any snowfall to speak of at the Land Trust office, the new year brought a small flurry of changes to Jefferson Land Trust’s Board of Directors.

We’re pleased to announce that board member and longtime Land Trust volunteer Jane Guiltinan was elected to the role of Board President.

“The Land Trust’s commitment to enhancing our community’s health and wellbeing through education, habitat restoration, and land conservation is something I’m very passionate about,” says Jane. “I’m honored and really excited to take on this new role, and look forward to helping the organization continue and expand its positive impacts for the good of all living beings in Jefferson County and beyond.” Read more about Jane here >>

Jane follows in the footsteps of former Board President Brian Rogers, who held the position for four years. He helped guide the organization successfully through the pandemic and advanced many impactful projects, including the Look to the Land capital campaign.

“We’re deeply grateful to Brian for his visionary leadership,” says Richard Tucker, Executive Director of the Land Trust. “His dedication, pragmatic guidance, and optimism has strengthened our organization and inspired us to achieve new heights.”

Brian was elected to continue in an officer role as Board Secretary, replacing Sherry Moller, who will continue to serve as a board member.

Board member Rick York was elected to be 2nd Vice President, joining 1st Vice President Tim Lawson, and board member Julie Lockhart was elected as Treasurer, replacing Craig Britton, who recently retired from the Board upon reaching eight years of dedicated service — the maximum term limit for Jefferson Land Trust Board members.

Craig was a tremendous asset to the Board and remains a close supporter and friend to the Land Trust. We hope you’ll join us in thanking him for his continued dedication to conservation and the Land Trust’s mission, and stay tuned to learn more about Craig and his wife Carleen’s commitment to conservation!

You’re invited to Get Involved or Get More Involved as a Land Trust Leadership Volunteer

Every year, hundreds of volunteers donate thousands of hours to help us achieve our mission. They help us care for dozens of Land Trust preserves; share stunning photography and artwork; pitch in at events and field trips; and help us with office projects, grant writing, maintaining equipment, and much much more.

And some volunteers like Brian and Jane serve in a leadership role on important committees, task forces, advisory groups, and on our board and the boards of our subsidiary organizations.

Jefferson Land Trust is always happy to get new volunteers involved and to deepen the involvement of long-time volunteers.

If you’re interested in getting involved as a volunteer at a leadership level, by serving on a committee, advisory group, task force, or even one of our boards, please contact Board President Jane Guiltinan or Executive Director Richard Tucker by emailing info[at]saveland.org. They’ll be glad to meet with you and discuss the wide variety of options for leadership volunteers.
