Brent A. Butler (he, him, his) sailed his 32-foot Islander Loralei to Port Townsend at the end of the last century (1999) and returned for employment as a Jefferson County Long Range Planner in 2004. As a Department Director with city or county governments in Idaho, California, and Washington responsible for planning, permitting and environmental review, he┬ádeveloped an interest in intertidal ecology and environmental ethics.┬áBrent’s local volunteer work includes serving on the Port Townsend City Council and co-founding the Homeward Bound Community Land Trust with other concerned residents. He loves open water swimming and is frequently spotted in Port Townsend Bay and the Straits.
