JLT is committed to "Helping the community protect open space, working lands and habitat forever." The policies formally adopted by the JLT board of directors as part of the Land Trust Accreditation Commission’s accreditation process are the criteria that guide JLT’s operations.
JLT was fully accredited by the national Land Trust Accreditation Commission in August 2009. Accreditation constitutes formal recognition of Jefferson Land Trust’s adherence to the national Land Trust Association’s Standards and Practices. JLT’s adherence to these policies demonstrates to supporters and the larger community that JLT is a solid and trustworthy organization.
Tax Classification
Jefferson Land Trust is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit institution. Any donations made to the Land Trust are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.
